“Mykela is a very strong willed, sassy seven-year-old. Her medical journey began at the age of three when she was diagnosed with lupus and rheumatoid arthritis. Then six months later she was diagnosed with Lysinuric Protein Intolerance (LPI) which is a genetic and rare disease. When diagnosed with LPI she was the only child in Iowa with it. She also has chronic respiratory issues and currently relies on oxygen.
She enjoys coloring, drawing pictures, mermaids, music (of all kinds), and loves to sing. She loves to play outside with her friends although it is hard to do sometimes. She is in love with her new iPad and all the learning games on it.
Mykela is our strong, sassy, full of energy girl, she is amazing and doesn’t know how to have a bad day. Her wish made it possible to get a bunkbed she can use even in a cast or with her medical equipment. Her iPad is something she can use during her feedings, and while she’s at doctor appointments or the hospital. Her power wheels truck can accommodate her oxygen tanks. She is enjoying all her wish gifts so much!"
