Blaise's wish was to have a boy red lab puppy.
We have always had dogs in our family, but in 2023 and 2024 we lost both of our babies. They were 13 and 14, so Blaise and his sisters didn't know life without them. The kids were devastated and we talked about what breed we would get next - then his medical issues started and that was put on the back burner.
As soon as he was asked about a wish, he did not hesitate.
"As a parent, you want to take away the pain, but you cannot. So to see pure joy on his face when he was gifted Gunnar, was such a sweet moment."
