Brayden was diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma. He underwent surgery to remove and biopsy those lymph nodes. He had chemotherapy for 9 treatments. He was such a trooper through all the treatments, scans, bloodwork, etc. that come along with cancer. Our family learned of Make-A-Wish through the coordinators in the oncology department. He was so excited when he was granted a wish and had a hard time deciding on what to do or where to go. Brayden's wish was to see a rocket launch and visit the Kennedy Space Center. The rocket launch was Brayden’s favorite memory of the trip. He was able to see that and experience so much more. The experience at the space center was outstanding. Our entire family really enjoyed the experience. He also wanted to go deep sea fishing. Even though the weather did not cooperate or the fish, he thought it was cool. This experience was a great experience for our entire family. It really was a stress reliever since he had been having some abnormal scans the months leading up to the trip. We can’t thank Make-A-Wish enough for this experience and all the volunteers who make this happen for families like ours. Supporting make a wish helps so many families and puts smiles on kids faces when things are difficult.
