Lauren shared with us, ”We were on our first vacation after lockdown of COVID. I was so tired and couldn't keep up with my family. As soon as we got home, I got tested and found out I had B-Cell Leukemia. Within the first week I was diagnosed with cancer, we were told I was eligible for a wish. That news gave me anticipation and hope for the future, which I carried through my treatment.”
I thought it would be really cool to travel to Europe and my dream was to explore Italy. My family and I had a lot of fun researching all there was to do and see. It was everything I wished for and more- I loved tryingnew foods, looking at art, taking in the amazing views, and experiencing a new culture.
This trip was something I looked forward to throughout the entire duration of my treatment. Talking about my wish served as a break from our everyday lives, where we didn’t have to focus on my sickness. Most importantly, it allowed my family to spend meaningful quality time together and celebrate my good health and how far I’ve come.
Make A Wish support ensures that kids receive a wish, and a piece of hope in their lives when it gets dark.
