“I was sick for months before actually being diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma. I was at the doctor all the time for different things and never felt "right". Once diagnosed I started a hard chemo regiment 5 days later. I had a reaction a few times to a chemo bag and had to have the 2 hour drip extended to 8 hours on just that one med. It was so hard to stay positive when you're constantly throwing up or sleeping all the time. Then add the fevers after each treatment and the countless hospital stays, all the missed school days, and not being able to do normal things for months. It was hard. I found out about Make-A-Wish through my Nurse Dani. I didn't fully understand what it was until I found out I was able to be granted one and my mom explained it. It took me a while to fully grasp what I was able to do, and I actually started to be excited for something for the first time since I was diagnosed.”
