I was so excited when we found out that my wish was actually going to happen!! I loved seeing the sea turtles, dolphins and swimming in the ocean!! It was amazing!

Jewel

Jewel was diagnosed with a rare subtype of Osteosarcoma in April 2020. She received nine months of chemo along with an amputation at University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital. She heard about Make-A-Wish through her social worker at the hospital while going through treatment. Jewel was excited about the anticipation of her wish ever since finding out about it!

Jewel's wish was to go to Hawaii and see sea turtles and dolphins,  "We talked about my wish for so long! I was so excited when we found out that my wish was actually going to happen!! I loved seeing the sea turtles, dolphins and swimming in the ocean!! It was amazing!"

"I got excited planning my wish! I talked about it with my family all the time! I could not wait to go to Hawaii! I was able to make lots of wonderful memories with my family while in Hawaii. It was such a fun time!"

Supporting Make-A-Wish makes a difference in the lives of children that are going through life changing medical diagnosis and gives them something to hope for and allows them to make memories that wouldn't otherwise be possible.
