“We were connected to Make-A-Wish Iowa after Asher’s Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) diagnosis. DMD is a progressive muscular disorder which causes the entire muscular system to gradually decline, with no cure."
Asher became aware in 2022 that there was one cruise ship which is larger than all the rest: The Icon of the Seas on Royal Caribbean.
His wish was to sail on this magnificent vessel with his whole family. In fact, he said that if it couldn’t be the Icon, he would rather not go on a cruise at all.
Having experienced Asher’s wish granted, he and the entire family was blown away by the experience and how they made it unthinkably special for Asher, making for a ‘boatload’ of memories while he is still mostly mobile and not needing a wheelchair full time.
